\n My research focuses on short wavelength LEDs and their materials, III-nitrides. In addition to UV, blue and green emitting LEDs, III-N materials (GaN, InN and AlN) are commonly used in laser diodes and power transistors. White light can be generated by coating blue III-N LEDs with yellow phosphor. This technique has enabled current LED based lighting.
\n In our laboratories in Micronova we have the capability to grown epitaxial structures of III-N materials and process custom optoelectronic devices. In current projects we have realized near UV, green and blue emitting LEDs, LED micro matrixes for display applications and optically pumped laser diodes.
\n Although my research deals with very basic properties of III-N materials and optoelectronic device physics, I have also experience in practical use of LEDs in general lighting, design and special applications.
