Karolin Kirschenmann

I do research in the field of empirical banking. I am especially interested in multinational banks as well as the Eastern European and Central Asian transition economies and their banking markets and study various aspects of how the financial crisis hit these countries via their banks' links with Western European banks.

I teach the B.Sc. course "Financial Markets and Institutions" and started to offer a new M.Sc. elective course on "Banking and Financial Intermediation" in spring 2014. Apart from that, I supervise Bachelors' theses.

In general, I am also interested in microfinance and have experience as a consultant for KfW Development Bank in Frankfurt/Germany.
